Why We Started LegalDev

Every year, thousands of people in India decide to start a business, register a GST number, or file a trademark for the first time, and most of them run into the same wall: government portals built for people who already know the process, and paid advisors who are hard to reach once the invoice is paid. LegalDev exists to close that gap.

LegalDev Tax India Private Limited was incorporated on 12 September 2023 in Haridwar, Uttarakhand, and is registered with the Registrar of Companies, Uttarakhand, under the Companies Act, 2013. The company was founded by Akash Singh with a straightforward goal: give business owners a single place to get registration, tax and compliance work done correctly the first time, backed by people who pick up the phone, not just a submission form.

That focus on accessibility shaped how the company has grown. Rather than scaling purely online, LegalDev opened branch offices in Patna and Lucknow in addition to its Haridwar headquarters, so clients across North India who prefer an in-person conversation before they hand over their documents have somewhere to walk into. The work itself spans the full lifecycle of a business: registering it, getting it tax-compliant, protecting what it builds through trademarks and IP, and keeping it in good standing with the ROC and the Income Tax Department year after year.

We're a young company by design choice, not by accident; we'd rather grow by doing the work well for the clients we have than by overstating what we've done. What we can tell you with certainty is on the public record: our CIN, our incorporation date, our registered office, and our filings with the MCA. Everything else, we'd rather you judge by talking to us directly.

Akash Singh founded LegalDev in 2023 to make business registration and tax compliance more accessible to first-time founders, and continues to lead the company's strategy and client operations from its Haridwar headquarters.
